LONDON - The Netherlands overcame England 3-2 in a thrilling friendly played at Wembley tonight. After a goalless first half the game exploded into life after the interval as quickfire goals by Robben (57) and Huntelaar (58) gave the visitors a 2-0 lead. Cahill reduced the deficit in the 85th minute then Young scored what looked to be the equaliser in stoppage time. However, Robben was to have the last say as he snatched a winner in the 92nd minute.

Wesley Sneijder was in the starting line-up and featured for 76 minutes being substituted off. 

GENOA – This evening’s friendly international fixture between Italy and USA at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa ended 0-1 to the visitors. Dempsey settled the game with his 55th-minute strike.

Nerazzurri striker Giampaolo Pazzini started the match on the bench before making his appearance as a substitute in the 59th minute.

DE WESTMAAT – This evening’s friendly fixture between the Netherlands and Denmark U20s ended 3-0.

Inter forward Luc Castaignos played 70 minutes and hit the bar before being substituted.

APPIANO GENTILE – The team’s second training session in the week building up to Inter v Catania lasted 90 minutes this morning. Working on the central pitch at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti, the players were put through a warm-up, some athletic work and ball-possession drills before ending with a training match.

Maicon, who was injured last week in the first half of the game against Marseille, trained with the rest of the squad for most of the session apart from the final training match.
