Twitter, Sneijder: “Focused and professional”

MILAN – "I’m not yet thinking of Euro 2012. I’m thinking game by game and therefore I’m thinking of tonight’s match with focus and as a professional. I’m ready…"
These were the comments that Wesley Sneijder left on his official Twitter account in response to Marco Van Basten, who had stated in an interview yesterday: "He’s one of the best midfielders in the world, but for him it’s a question of mentality; he knows that now he cannot win the league and so he’s preparing for the European Championships. He must be more professional."

Forlan: “We’ll give it everything, for all of us”

MARSEILLE - "We have a tough game coming up but it should be a great one too. It’s a match we can’t wait to play." Diego Forlan spoke to Rai Sport the day before Inter’s UEFA Champions League round-of-16 first-leg clash with Marseille.
"It’s a difficult moment for us but we’re going to give it everything we’ve got," the striker added. He was then asked if the team would be playing for Ranieri tomorrow, to silence those who claim the coach is facing the axe should Inter lose: "We’ll be playing for everyone, for all of us. We’re behind the coach and we want to do well. It’s just football that’s like that: when the team isn’t doing well, the first person to get the blame is the coach, but it’s not like that. We’re all responsible, especially those of us out on the pitch."
UCL, Ranieri: “We’ll invert the trend”

MARSEILLE - "It’s a peculiar season. First things were going badly, then brilliantly and now badly again. But the Champions League is upon us now and I’m sure we’ll do well," said Claudio Ranieri ahead of Marseille v Inter, the UEFA Champions League last-16 first-leg match being played at the Stade Vélodrome tomorrow evening at 20:45.
"It will be a pleasure to meet Didier [Deschamps] again. I respect him as a person and as a man. I’ve heard that we’re supposedly favourites: that’s understandable because Inter won everything two years ago but it’s not so simple because we’re in a tough moment, whereas Marseille are doing very well. It’s up to us to invert the trend."
